Loran Scholars are chosen for their character, service and leadership potential. They are curious by nature, interested in a wide range of subjects and willing to take meaningful risks. They prioritize results over appearances and value integrity and honesty. Though Loran Scholars study diverse subjects, and go on to work in a variety of fields, they share a common commitment to their university and larger communities.

If you plan to enter university in the fall of 2016, you may be eligible to apply for the Loran Awards. Sign up to be notified when applications open. Guidance counsellors, teachers and school staff should sign up to our school email list.

Any graduating high school or CEGEP student from coast-to-coast-to-coast may apply for the Loran Award. Please review our eligibility criteria.

Renewable for up to four years, with a total value of up to $100,000, the Loran Award includes an annual stipend of $9,000 and matching tuition waiver, access to funding and internships through our summer program, invitations to annual gatherings and forums, and one-on-one mentorship. It is tenable at any of our 25 partner universities.

We select 30 Loran Scholars and grant up to 80 finalist and provincial awards each year. Our rigorous and personalized three-month selection process is designed to discover exceptional students who demonstrate character, commitment to service in the community and leadership potential.

Application deadlines will be in October 2015. Find out how to apply.
