It was a phone call one West Kelowna student will never forget.

Devon Bourgeois, 17, recently found out he was chosen out of thousands of students to win a Loran Award, valued at up to $100,000 over four years, for his undergraduate studies in Canada.

“I was ecstatic. It is a huge opportunity,” said Bourgeois. “When I got that phone call, I cried a little bit – it was awesome.”
