Some may view travelling to Toronto as a long way to go for a scholarship application, but it won’t be as far as the journey two regional high school students will be on if they should win.
Lily Bateman (Northeast Kings Education Centre) and Alyssa van de Riet (Hants East Rural High School) are two of six Grade 12 finalists from Nova Scotia for the prestigious Loran Award — a national undergraduate scholarship with a thorough application process overseen by the Loran Scholars Foundation.
