Cobourg student and YMCA Peace Medal recipient Lily MacKenzie now finds herself in the running for the prestigious Loran Scholarship.
MacKenzie, 18, and a Grade 12 student at Cobourg Collegiate Institute (CCI), is one of 84 finalists for the scholarship valued at up to $100,000, said Julia Lo, manager of marketing and communications for the Loran Scholars Foundation. MacKenzie follows in the footsteps of fellow CCI student Milton Calderon Donefer who in 2015 became a Loran Scholar and now attends McGill University.
