Uxbridge resident Braden Lamoureux, 18, has been awarded a Loran Scholarship, Canada’s largest undergraduate scholarship, making him one of 31 young Canadians in the Loran Scholars Foundation’s 27th class of scholars.

“It’s such a relief to have such a great opportunity to come into my life,” said Mr. Lamoureux. “Now pretty much every door opened in my life and it’s so exciting.”

Mr. Lamoureux, who attends Grade 12 at Uxbridge Secondary School, applied in September to the scholarship, which is valued up to $100,000 over four years for undergraduate studies in Canada. After a rigourous interview process spanning three months, he found out he was awarded the scholarship on Feb. 7.
