Olivia is a co-founder of her school’s Truth and Reconciliation Committee and Gender and Sexuality Allyship. Passionate about theology, she audited a Christian Caregiving course, and used the transferable skills to create a support group for LGBTQ2S+ students in her school. She has worked as a summer camp leader and volunteered as a campaign manager for a local municipal campaign. In her free time, she loves to sew, write, and lift weights.

Katie is the squadron commander of the Iqaluit Air Cadet squadron. At her school, she restarted the environmental club, and is a member of both choir and band. Katie also volunteers at a helpline and serves as a member of a Nunavut-wide youth advisory committee on climate change. She has competed in national public speaking competitions and previously worked as an intern at World Wildlife Fund Canada.

Liam founded and directs a student-produced podcast at his school that promotes connection and student wellness. He is the co-president of his school’s Student Representative Council, a member of the Library and Archives Canada Youth Advisory Council, and a former member of the national and provincial RCMP Youth Advisory Committees. He is involved in his school’s theatre program, chess club, and badminton team. Liam also volunteers with youth at the local children’s museum.

Aamna is co-founder of her school’s social justice club, where she organizes fundraisers for humanitarian aid and advocates for equality. She is the campaign founder and coordinator of The Dignity Project, a public awareness campaign aimed at destigmatizing homelessness. Aamna also plays for her school’s basketball team and her community’s soccer club. Additionally, as a member of the Youth Events Squad run by the City of Surrey, she dedicates her time to organizing and executing events for her community.

Sarah is a member of her CEGEP’s student association, where she helps organize student events to promote and foster a sense of belonging. She also co-founded a financial magazine for young people and works as a volunteer at sporting events. Sarah’s passion for writing, love of jewelry-making, and role as a tutor reflect the depth and breadth of her interests. As a member of the Conseil Jeunesse de Saint-Léonard, she’s actively involved in a number of green transition projects.

Marie-Lou is head of environmental and international affairs for her CEGEP student association, where, among other achievements, she has founded a used book library. She also works for a non-profit agency that helps immigrants integrate into society and the workplace, and has set up a language mentoring service there that she continues to manage. In her spare time, Marie-Lou practises her German and hones her skills in a particular passion—circus arts.

Shreya co-founded and leads her school’s debate team. She has launched advertising campaigns for a non-profit, and developed a comprehensive research project to help address flexible electricity demand. Shreya has also been involved in a community initiative connecting youth and seniors. Currently, she contributes to economics and game theory research and works at her local library in her spare time.

Mahrukh is her school’s Student Representative Council co-president, and was part of its charity’s crew. She is a competitive athlete in four sports, namely basketball. She was in charge of hosting BRIT, the largest Western Canada basketball tournament. She coaches debate, and is a debater, competing at the national level. Mahrukh also plays in her school’s senior band. She has volunteered with the local YMCA, and helped start her school’s Muslim Student Association.

Chloe is the president of her school’s student council. She advocates for social justice within her school and runs initiatives that bring social awareness to her community’s needs. She plays competitive volleyball at the provincial and national levels, is a certified volleyball referee, and coaches for the community during her free time. Chloe also actively volunteers as a math tutor and day camp leader.

Lubna spends her time volunteering in the public library, leading extracurriculars, and striving to embrace diversity and inclusivity everywhere she goes. She works with children in library programs to develop strong math and reading skills. She is the chief editor of her school’s yearbook, along with the team lead and communications manager of an intergenerational relationships club. Additionally, she has served twice as president of her school’s Culture Day, and organized a fashion show which allowed students to represent their culture and heritage.
