A devoted baseball player, Aidan has represented his province at the national level, including events such as the Canada Games, for the past five years. He also started and ran a successful youth baseball camp in his town. Aidan is a treasurer for his school’s student council and a peer tutor. He also participates in fundraisers for organizations such as the RMHC and Tim Hortons Camp Day. Aidan, who has worked in healthcare facilities since the age of 15, is currently employed as a pharmacy assistant, but volunteers at his local hospital in his spare time. He is also a volunteer firefighting cadet.

Paolo is a passionate volunteer in his community. He regularly visits seniors in long-term care homes and leads an AI robotics research project focused on reducing seniors’ isolation and loneliness. He also coaches baseball for the Hamilton Challenger Baseball Association, a league that supports players with special needs. Paolo has played competitive soccer for several years and enjoys golf and basketball. He is the current and founding president of his school’s DECA Chapter.

The first in his family to attend university, Mbarouk co-founded a school barbershop that gives free haircuts. His captivating poetry slams, which he’s performed at school and in Théâtre Outremont, have been featured on Télé-Québec and the social media page of Quebec’s former education minister. Mbarouk became a soccer camp manager at just 17 years of age and has worked to promote inclusion and combat racism and antisemitism in his high school.

Chloe leads initiatives to improve educational opportunities in her community. As a founding member of Climate Education Reform BC, she has organized community workshops and learning resources, and campaigned for the provincial government to implement adequate climate change education into school curriculums. Beyond climate activism, she facilitated after-school community programs at local elementary schools in low-income neighbourhoods. Chloe also tinkers with projects and research involving technology, like artificial intelligence.

As founder of the One in All Project, Baljot is leading interfaith action and working toward eliminating inequities faced by people of minority faiths who have been imprisoned. He organizes truth and reconciliation initiatives within his school and community, and as secretary of his school’s Human Rights Club, he is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and positive change. He is also passionate about research: his project related to mussels and blue-green algae in Lake Winnipeg developed tangible solutions to help solve this crisis. Baljot is the editor of his school newspaper and a passionate actor.

Sophie co-leads a sustainability club that engages students in activities to learn more about the environment and connect with community members. She founded a Youth Council in her hometown to provide opportunities for youth to learn and engage with the city of Penticton. Sophie is a ballet dancer and assistant teacher, a member of school leadership, and an SPCA volunteer. She loves to hike and explore with her Bernese mountain dog.

Ashley started a school service club, Project Equal, and its first environmental club, Green Team. He co-founded a community association, which also launched a seed library, fostering interconnectedness in his neighbourhood and empowering people to grow food for free and help heal their urban ecosystem. Ashley has helped run weekly litter clean-ups, neighbourhood food pantries, and mental resilience workshops. He has mentored other young, enthusiastic gardeners, and represented youth on a grant committee, funding a secondary school writing contest.

Aidan is the president of his school’s student council. He holds the position of Master Corporal in his local Junior Canadian Rangers. He is actively involved in sports, and has completed an Aboriginal Coaching module, as well as participated in the North American Indigenous Games. Through his involvement with the Nunatukavut Youth Community Engagement Project, he has worked with elders to connect his community’s youth with their ancestry.

Mark founded Orthtec, a start-up that uses 3D printing to create orthopedic braces for athletes. With a passion for engineering, he initiated and led a funded project creating smart buoys for water-quality monitoring at the University of Prince Edward Island. As a multi-national medalist and blackbelt in karate, he coaches young athletes. Mark, a trilingual and avid traveller, actively debates and serves as elected student council committee manager.

Sally was a competitive swimmer for many years. A nationally certified lifeguard, she was also involved in the development of young, pre-competitive swimmers as a swim coach and instructor. Sally works as a respite-care provider, and in recent years, has worked as a camp counsellor at a summer camp for people with disabilities. Sally also tutors at school, and mentors students through the Best Buddies program.
