An industrial relations student with a thirst for inclusive employment practices, Anne-Èva sits on her program’s equity, diversity, and inclusion committee. During her first Loran summer experience, she worked as a literacy officer with Réseau réussite Montréal. She drew on her extensive background in day camps to incorporate literacy activities into Montreal-based day camps’ summer programming. But her youth engagement work doesn’t end there: She also coordinates a homework club at a high school. Anne-Èva loves to learn new languages and is always looking to apply her newly acquired skills and discover new cultures through her travels.

Billy is enrolled in the commerce program at Queen’s University. In high school, he was the co-president of the student government, co-founder of the business club, and involved with various sports teams. In his first year of university, he was an analyst for Apex Advisory, where he helped Capital Angel Network analyze the social impact of the companies in their portfolio. For his first Loran summer, he worked as a Kingston Fund associate through a Propel Impact Investing Fellowship. There Billy learned how businesses around Kingston provide opportunities and impact their community.

Isaac is enrolled in a bachelor of science at Dalhousie University, where he is researching the development of multi-layered tumour models using ATPS bioprinting and optimized extracellular matrix components. He also applies machine learning to analyze these tumour structures. As a student researcher at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto during his 2025 Loran summer, Isaac worked to stabilize the prefusion conformation of Epstein-Barr Virus glycoprotein B to support the development of optimized immunogens for vaccines and therapeutics. He is also the founder of an organization that developed rehabilitation technology and assistive educational software for students with cortical visual impairments and motor neuron diseases.

Jakob is enrolled in the Bachelors of Science in Nursing Program at McMaster University. He runs a maintenance business called DeGruchy’s Property Solutions, as well as a student food drive called Feed it Forward. Jakob’s passion for healthcare has led him to become an active blood donor, as well as a research participant in mental health studies. He is an alumni of the Catapult Leadership Society and a founding member of his hometown skateboarding group.

An International Studies student, Mishka is the President of Citoyenneté jeunesse and a member of Lab22’s Jeunesse22 advisory committee. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Comité d’action politique franco-québécois and participates in the Parlement jeunesse du Québec. She also represented Université de Montréal at the Jeux de la science politique as the international cooperation delegate and took part in COP15 (biodiversity) and COP28 (climate). Mishka is passionate about political issues surrounding justice, equity, and representation at all levels.

Teerka is a health sciences student at Queen’s University with a strong interest in the health and well-being of children and youth. She spent one of her Loran summers working at the Child Health Policy Accelerator, contributing to research on online harms. She leads a community organization that delivers health-focused initiatives for the unhoused population and runs a program offering free first-aid courses and workshops for at-risk youth. On campus, she is involved in clubs focused on youth health promotion and harm reduction, helps organize a TEDx conference, and dances in a charity fashion show.
