Anisa is the president of her school’s green club, overseeing recycling, leading sustainability projects, and community cleanups. She works with a municipal youth safety program by facilitating discussions, and gathering youth perspectives. She also does engineering work and delivers hands-on STEM workshops through the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge.

Annice is the prime minister of her school’s student council and is a member of Connect Crew, the grade nine orientation committee. She enjoys playing trumpet in the concert band and acting in the drama club. Annice is an assistant lifeguard, swim instructor, and ringette referee. She actively volunteers in her community as a ringette coach and member of the Caledonia Agricultural Society.

Umayeer has worked with local businesses and individuals to support his community. He is currently working with a non-profit organization to support emerging artists and creative thinkers, advocating for AI as a tool to accentuate human creativity, rather than replace it. Umayeer enjoys biking and expressing himself through creative photography.

Yousef is the president of his school’s first club dedicated to supporting students who are new to Canada. He assists peers with navigating school systems, completing forms, and managing coursework. He also serves as an executive member of his school’s student council and supports other student clubs.

Moriah is the co-president of her school’s student council and co-captain of her varsity volleyball team. She works as inclusion support for children with disabilities, and volunteers weekly as a Sunday school teacher. Moriah organizes activities for the Nova Scotia International Student program and collaborated with a team to facilitate a Black youth-led conference.

Léo is the president of his school’s 2SLGBTQI+ club, is a member of his grad committee, and sat on his student council. Outside of school, he led a political movement for Vote16 while serving an organization representing Francophone youth in NB. Léo has worked and organized events with several organizations representing minority groups in New Brunswick. He is a classical pianist and gives lessons to children.

Timo is passionate about ecology, in particular environmental and social innovation. His work focuses on improving food security by connecting local producers and community meal services. He co-leads an a cappella group that performs at community events. Timo sits on his college’s disciplinary board as student representative. He also plays guitar, piano, and holds a black belt in karate.

Kaia is a student representative on their district’s accessibility committee and student trustee on their school board. They have initiated the installation of crosswalks at their school and increased access for students with disabilities. They have directed and edited a short film on bees and sustainability, and volunteer with Blind Beginnings. Kaia also cosplays in their community.

Madison led a collaborative initiative to create a mural promoting truth and reconciliation within her school board. She serves on a board-level council focused on advancing Indigenous education. Madison plays clarinet in her school’s concert band and also acts as MC for their performances. She is the president of her school’s mental health club.

Anna leads a team that organizes student-led leadership conferences in Halifax. A former member of the Nova Scotia Youth Climate Council, she also heads her high school’s environment club and serves on the student council. Anna organized a youth climate seminar and helped design an Indigenous student space at her school.
