Allanah is an active community volunteer in rural Newfoundland and Labrador, involved at the hospital, seniors’ home, community events, student council, and church service. She has also completed a science internship through a women-in-STEM employment program, working with a university fertility research group to create clear knowledge-translation materials on fertility and reproductive health.
Hector is a power tumbler who promotes inclusivity in gymnastics, including advocating for opportunities for male students to participate in high school gymnastics. He works at Kumon, helping lead the “Readers are Leaders” literacy initiative. Hector also serves as vice-president of his school’s student council and is a member of the robotics team.
Nathan owns and operates a drone photography and videography company. He also leads a church volunteer team dedicated to supporting the community through food security initiatives, sports programs, and social services. In addition to his entrepreneurial, volunteer work, and fundraising efforts, Nathan works in both food service and construction and captains his football team.
Yasmine launched an app that bridges the gap between AI and mental health to prevent student anxiety attacks. She also co-founded a project to recentre health in educational discourse. A member of her CEGEP’s student association, she is involved with the Rideau Hall Foundation’s Ingenious+ youth group and is a national ambassador for the Hydro-Québec Science Fair.
Sougui is dedicated to his school and building community. He helped establish his school’s Black Student Association, Muslim Students’ Association, and Model United Nations Club, where he now serves as president. He also supported efforts to restart the Mayor Youth Council and serves as a co-chair.
Ala’ Alaiwah is the co-president of his district’s student council. He is passionate about leadership and giving students a platform to share their voices and perspectives. He plays basketball and enjoys making a positive impact in his school and community.
