Stella is the president of her school’s Students Against Drinking and Driving (SADD), a club she reinstated in 2023. She will be attending a SADD conference in New Zealand to explore Indigenous initiatives and bring new insights to the North. A dedicated Inuit community leader, Stella organizes cancer fundraisers and regularly volunteers locally.

Audrey has been actively following her passion for dancing for more than 10 years. For the past two years, she has been co-president of her school’s social justice club, which focuses on giving back to the local community, and co-chair of her school’s Relay For Life event, which fundraises for cancer research. Audrey also loves being outdoors.

Kira is passionate about climate advocacy. She has written articles and conducted presentations on wildfires and their repercussions in the NWT. She also interned at a large, climate-focused organization, where she wrote educational articles on Northern ecosystems. To her school, she brought the 24 Hour Race, a global, student-led event that raises funds to combat human trafficking. She is the co-founder of her school’s running club and co-head of the debate club. Kira has also worked as a canoe guide on remote Northern rivers in the summers.

While studying English Literature at UBC, Kyran has become involved in education, working with the Beaufort Delta Divisional Educational Council in Inuvik, Northwest Territories to remodel and decolonize schooling across the region. For his public policy Loran summer, Kyran worked with Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, a policy advancement firm based in Ottawa, ON that works to advance the rights of all Inuit across the Inuit Nunangat (land occupied by various Inuit in Canada). Kyran has also worked with the Boys and Girls Club in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
