Sohaib is a student leader with a penchant for social change and inclusion. As the captain of several sports teams and the president of a poetry club, he is a firm believer in creative expression and community engagement. Sohaib strives to dismantle stereotypes by giving a voice to minority students and upholding educational initiatives that break societal norms and biases.

Shay has shared his voice and unique perspective on his school’s accessibility committee, and several youth advisory committees. He is an ambassador for the Ontario Cerebral Palsy Sports Association’s Be Boundless campaign. He is also a member of the U23 Ontario Wheelchair Basketball Team, and an Ontario Wheelchair Racer. Shay co-created and co-directs a local bowling league for students with disabilities.

Sanay is the editor-in-chief of his school newspaper and chapter president of a club promoting careers in health sciences through conferences and competitions. He is the vice-chair of a regional committee that raises funds for humanitarian causes through events for high school students. He works part time as a lifeguard and aquatic instructor with his city, and volunteers at a local food bank. Sanay is passionate about bagpiping, both as a soloist and with a regional police pipe band.

As the founder of her school’s climate action council, Mallory directs meetings and plans initiatives. She is the co-president of the music council at her school, leading meetings and organizing events and fundraisers, and she participates in leadership roles in two school bands. Mallory also works at a small restaurant as a hostess.

JoyGold is a student trustee for her local school board. She co-chairs the Catholic Student Leadership Impact Team, working with students across the TCDSB. After being awarded a Community Crisis grant, she co-started a brand new initiative that helps to grow the confidence of girls in her community so that they can build leadership skills and advocate for themselves. She is an ambassador for a local NGO that offers youth mentorship and assists young people in overcoming barriers and achieving success. In 2024, she was a valedictorian for the U of T STEAM Design Program.

Edna is a co-lead of the newcomer working group within the Toronto Youth Cabinet, the City’s official advocacy body representing over 625,000 youth. She researched Black students in STEM and competes internationally in STEM and business competitions. At school, she serves as student body president and she is the co-founder and co-president of the Black Student Alliance. Beyond academics, she plays on sports teams and is always there for her younger siblings.

Charlotte mentors fellow Indigenous students through academic programs and cultural workshops, empowering them to succeed. As head of her school’s leadership team, she launched wellness days, manages and implements the breakfast program, founded the equity newspaper, and organized coat- and can-drives for her community. She coordinates reconciliation trips to Attawapiskat with Hockey Cares, and leads media, awards, and outreach for her robotics team.

A sexual assault survivor, Becky gives talks about women’s rights in her township and actively fights to end violence against women. In sharing her story at home and on several media networks, Becky is able to guide other survivors. She uses her leadership skills in her role as president.

Asma co-founded and captains her school’s robotics team. She is the president of her school’s newsletter club and a teen council member at the Art Gallery of Windsor. Asma created a heated bus shelter prototype for a STEAM community project and completed a co-op placement at the regional hospital. As a Girl Guides Youth Forum representative, she organized events and advocated for equity. She also worked as a program assistant with Skate Canada and runs her own calligraphy business.

Aishwarya is the co-founder of an international non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for youth mental health and developing self-care packages for underserved communities. She serves as a cadet for Saint John’s Ambulance and has written and published educational booklets for children in a few local hospitals. Aishwarya has taught young people to code at a robotics programming centre and co-directs her school’s global activism council.
