An industrial relations student with a thirst for inclusive employment practices, Anne-Èva sits on her program’s equity, diversity, and inclusion committee. During her first Loran summer experience, she worked as a literacy officer with Réseau réussite Montréal. She drew on her extensive background in day camps to incorporate literacy activities into Montreal-based day camps’ summer programming. But her youth engagement work doesn’t end there: She also coordinates a homework club at a high school. Anne-Èva loves to learn new languages and is always looking to apply her newly acquired skills and discover new cultures through her travels.

An International Studies student, Mishka is the President of Citoyenneté jeunesse and a member of Lab22’s Jeunesse22 advisory committee. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Comité d’action politique franco-québécois and participates in the Parlement jeunesse du Québec. She also represented Université de Montréal at the Jeux de la science politique as the international cooperation delegate and took part in COP15 (biodiversity) and COP28 (climate). Mishka is passionate about political issues surrounding justice, equity, and representation at all levels.

Rosalie is starting a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy at Université de Montréal. Over the last five years, she has worked as a caregiver for an elderly person. She promotes cross-cultural connection in her workplace in the form of Spanish translation. As a member of Université de Montréal’s theatre troupe, Rosalie took part in a play reading project. She also completed a three-month community internship in Guatemala, where she focused on the needs of the elderly, facilitated and organized group activities.

Sarah is working toward an undergraduate Doctor of Medicine degree and a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology at Université Laval. As part of her master’s degree, she is leading a research project to improve the experience of breast cancer patients undergoing treatment. She strives to promote female leadership in medicine, having cofounded Université Laval’s Association of Women Surgeons together with other students. This initiative seeks to advance the role of women in surgery and help female medical students achieve their full potential. In her spare time, Sarah likes to get outside and hike.

As a law student at McGill, Cathy takes on leadership roles, serving on the executive team for the Environmental Law Association and the board of an organization guiding schools toward socio-ecological transitions. She is the membership president of a youth wing of a political party, contributes to her electoral district association, and acts as head of the G7 youth delegation. She completed her Loran public policy summer in the office of Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and her non-profit summer in Shanghai at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of Canada. In her spare time, Cathy enjoys dancing and playing violin and is now learning to play the erhu.

A software engineering student at McGill, Gracie works with a student-led club promoting opportunities for women in engineering as the vice-president of SymPOWEsium, a large annual conference uplifting women in engineering through speakers, workshops, networking, and a research competition. She is also president of the McGill chapter and a national student representative of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society, working to rebuild the community and increase the representation of Indigenous students in STEM. She previously completed a co-op at Autodesk as a quality assurance intern, where she learned test automation. Gracie is also a member of McGill’s Concrete Canoe design team and Hack4Impact McGill, where she is programming a logistics app for a local non-profit.

Mariana is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws at Université de Montréal. She is the events coordinator for the Comité Diversité at her faculty, as well as a founding member and future co-president of the Association d’étudiant.e.s latino-américain.e.s en droit. She is the director of social media for the Creative Collective for Change, an initiative she co-founded with her college professors. She spent her first Loran summer working as a policy and research officer in a non-profit in Ottawa that works with women’s shelters throughout Canada. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar, baking sweet treats, and walking around Montréal.

Wadii is a commerce student at Queen’s University. As a portfolio manager in a student investment club, he develops investment theses and explores market dynamics. He is committed to financial literacy, serving as a mentor for a university finance network. In his role as a loan committee member of a sustainable finance fund, Wadii also assesses loan applications from social-impact businesses. Beyond finance, he is a licensed parachutist, and enjoys playing badminton and taking on new athletic challenges.

Luka presides over Université Laval’s Debate Club and has competed at several tournaments (1st place individual at McGill 2025, 1st place in public speaking at Brébeuf 2023–2024). As vice-president of Université Laval’s Arts & Crafts association, he organizes art therapy activities for the entire Quebec City community through a series of partnerships. He also volunteers for community initiatives like Table du Pain, which helps students in need access food on a weekly basis. He is currently participating in a research project on migration and hospitality in collaboration with the University of Amsterdam, under the supervision of Ms. Spronk, Ph.D., and Ms. Karine Geoffrion.

Émilia is a Computer Engineering student at McGill University. Passionate about inclusivity, she plans conferences and workshops through an organization called Promoting Opportunities for Women in Engineering. She also designs assistive technology for Montreal’s disabled community with the Assistive Technology McGill club and Makers Making Change.
