Shravya helped co-found and open a Saskatoon branch of the ARTex coding society, where she works with the YMCA to offer free coding programs to youth. She started an immigrant cycling initiative in her city and helped host an online youth-mentor conference. In the summer, she runs art camps from her studio. Shravya is involved in her school’s student council, basketball team, and badminton team, and she is pursuing an IB diploma.

Joti co-coaches the debate clubs at both his high school and former elementary school. He volunteers as a youth prayer chanter at his local Hindu temple and plays in his high-school band. He has served on the student representative council and is a vocal proponent on the societal dangers of cancel culture. Joti is best known for engineering an innovative communication aid for the Deafblind community. In his free time, he plays badminton and basketball.

As a communication student, Liam pursues his passion for storytelling and the power it has to build community. He serves as the board chair of his university’s student newspaper and fosters healthy lifestyles on campus as a promotions leader with the recreation department. He is also a member of the university jazz choir. In his free time, Liam can be found on a hiking trail, in a museum, or at a vegan bakery.

Mahrukh is studying biomedical sciences at the University of Saskatchewan. She currently serves as an executive for a campus club focused on humanitarian needs in her community. Mahrukh is also a researcher for a women’s health podcast, Heart to Health, and an impact consulting fellow, learning how to help mission-driven organizations increase their positive impact on the world. Mahrukh enjoys playing basketball, reading, and travelling

Kaitlyn is pursuing a B.Sc. in integrated science, with a specialization in neuroscience and immunology at the University of British Columbia. She has been involved in her community on campus as a volunteer lead for the AMS food bank by organizing activities to promote food security for students. Kaitlyn has completed a project investigating the effects of the SPI1 gene on the progression of Alzheimer’s disease as an undergraduate researcher at the Centre for Brain Health. She is now exploring the correlation between gut health and brain function through a research project focused on host-microbiome interactions in inflammatory bowel disease. In her free time, Kaitlyn enjoys going on hikes and staying active in her French community in Vancouver.

Banin is pursuing a BA in political studies at the University of Saskatchewan. She is a passionate advocate for Afghan women’s and girls’ right to education. As part of her advocacy work, she serves as co-chair of the Saskatoon chapter of Right to Learn Afghanistan and is also the co-chair of cultural and community engagement with the 30 Birds Foundation. She currently works part time to help support her family. You may also find her exploring her artistic side creating her latest crochet projects.
