Averi is studying Common Law at the University of Ottawa. She is a Founder of the Canadian Youth for Youth Empowerment, a non-profit organization that teaches youth in Canada about social justice issues. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Acadians Association for the National Capital Region in Ottawa, which promotes Acadian culture and history in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. Averi spent one of her Loran Summers working at the National Association of Women and the Law as a research intern, where she helped develop a climate change module for the organization’s Feminist Law Reform 101 course and wrote articles for their blog.
