While pursuing a degree in environmental engineering at UBC, Emma volunteers as a shift lead with Sprouts’ Community Fridge and Cafe initiatives, providing sustainable and affordable food to her community. Emma researched climate change’s effects on youth education with the UBC Climate Hub. Additionally, she has been a part of the Environmental Engineering Student Association, the UBC Women Empowerment Club, the Conference on Sustainability in Engineering and Farm to Cafeteria Canada’s Youth Strategy. While on the West Coast, Emma has learned how to ski and rock climb and enjoys camping and kayaking.
