Julien is studying mathematical physics at the University of Waterloo. A Franco-Albertan, he is involved in student leadership through the University of Waterloo residence council and contributes to research and innovation initiatives, including Waterloo iGEM and a student group exploring space radiation shielding. For his 2025 Loran summer, Julien worked as a policy analyst intern at the Canada West Foundation, a public policy think tank. Outside of academics, Julien enjoys skiing and playing piano.
