At the University of Toronto Mississauga, Mahdi is studying Life Science with a specialization in Biotechnology. During his first year, he was a Sponsorship Associate with UNICEF, working to ensure special protection for disadvantaged children. Passionate about medicine, Mahdi was the VP of Internal Affairs of the Pre-Medical Cub, which prepares pre-med students to apply to Medical School. He is also part of his campus’s first aid responders team, providing advanced first-aid-level care in cases of emergency. As part of his Public Policy summer at the Centre for Newcomers in Calgary, Mahdi wrote a white paper recommending reforming the immigration act.
