Pénélope is completing her Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor at McGill’s Faculty of Law. She is a senior caseworker and the VP Communications of Innocence McGill, where she tackles cases of wrongful convictions in Québec and works to obtain exonerations. Pénélope also volunteers at Project Genesis, a community organization assisting individuals with housing, welfare, pension, and healthcare issues. Throughout her studies, she stays active by running and playing soccer and enjoys drawing and painting. Pénélope has a strong interest in international human rights and legal advocacy and has spent her Loran Summers working with the UNHCR Guatemala’s Protection Department, working on forced displacement issues in Central America and assisting in researching trends in Guatemala’s Izabal region and at LICADHO, a human rights NGO protecting the civil and political rights of human rights defenders in Cambodia.
