Mount Sentinel Secondary

While pursuing a BA in Political Science and Gender, Sexuality, Feminist and Social Justice Studies, Tala volunteers with a local organization that provides shelter, food, medical care, and social services to support Montréal’s unhoused population. She has worked on several advocacy-oriented journals as an editor and peer reviewer. She is keen to expand her understanding of political and social issues to identify holistic solutions and create avenues for positive transformation. During her Loran summers, she has interned in the non-profit sector, working locally to make arts education and programming accessible to marginalized youth and internationally to support young women in starting and growing sustainable social enterprises across Uganda. She is passionate about supporting and working alongside those most disadvantaged in society.
