Yasmine is currently enrolled in a B.Soc.Sc. at the University of Ottawa in political science with a minor in feminist and gender studies. She spent her past summer providing psychosocial support to young mothers expelled from school due to pregnancy in Uganda. In 2023, she attended the Universities Studying Slavery Conference hosted in Halifax, NS. Yasmine volunteers on the board of directors at a non-profit in Ottawa, serves as a student mentor for newcomers to Canada and conducts research on sexual violence for a charity.
