Magfira is a member of three youth councils that organize and facilitate community events. She leads life-skill workshops for Grades 6 to 12 girls that teach them how to be leaders and take initiative within their community. Magfira has also assisted with coordinating and distributing over 600 hygienic-care packages for unhoused people and collecting toiletry kits and handmade scarves for a local women’s shelter.
Daisy is the president of a racial equity collective at her school, organizing countless community events, fundraisers, and anti-racism workshops. She is the senior coach and founder of a traditional dance team at her school and the vice-president of an investing program. She has also been volunteering for the local library reading buddies program. Daisy has previously worked as a legal assistant and is currently a sales associate at H&M.
As a communication student, Liam pursues his passion for storytelling and the power it has to build community. He serves as the board chair of his university’s student newspaper and fosters healthy lifestyles on campus as a promotions leader with the recreation department. He is also a member of the university jazz choir. In his free time, Liam can be found on a hiking trail, in a museum, or at a vegan bakery.
Max is pursuing a major in international studies with a minor in French and Francophone studies. They previously participated in a language exchange program in Germany through an independent Loran summer, and for a second summer, worked in Vancouver with Helicopters Without Borders. Max organized a pilot event for a community-based food project focused on French-Canadian culture and continues their involvement with the BC Linguistic Security Committee, which promotes a diverse and inclusive Francophone identity in British Columbia. Outside of their academic and professional work, Max enjoys photography, urban exploration, and checking out local live music venues.
