Muhaddisa is the VP of Operations at a non-profit organization providing youth opportunities. She is the Captain of her school’s public-speaking team and coaches junior students. She plans initiatives as part of her constituency youth council and local library teen council. Muhaddisa aids with food distribution for those who are unhoused and fundraises for humanitarian crises through her school club.

Lily is currently pursuing an engineering degree at the University of British Columbia where she supports aspiring female-identifying engineers through mentorship and volunteering. She participates in harm-reduction initiatives on campus and in the community through naloxone education and training and facilitates community tap dancing sessions.

Joesh is a mental health & diversity advocate and public speaker. As the youth ambassador for the Stigma Free Society, Joesh has reached thousands of students in 500+ schools across Canada. He is also a TEDx speaker, athlete, school president, and co-investigator for a national health research grant.

Graeme is a bilingual student and Co-Founder of his high school chamber choir. He is Co-President of the Environmental Club and an elected member of the Principal’s Council. He is a volunteer judo instructor and was involved in restarting the junior program at his club. Graeme enjoys playing the piano, ultimate frisbee, and soccer.

While completing her first year of engineering, Tumi promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives as a senator on the University of British Columbia’s National Society of Black Engineers, and as the coordinator of a remembrance ceremony for the L’Ecole de Polytechnique Massacre. She volunteered as an advisor for an organization promoting youth civic engagement and represented African students in UBC’s African Awareness Initiative. She was the vice president of her house council and a member of a design team creating sustainable housing for remote communities. For her enterprise summer, she completed a software development internship at Amazon.

Danya is the Founder of the Students of Colour Association at her school and is the student representative of the school district offering a youth perspective for future plans. She is an active member of her Muslim community, organizing meetings and initiatives for BIPOC youth, teaching Arabic to children, and volunteering at her local mosque.

Brynna is pursuing a B.Sc. at the University of British Columbia. She is involved with the university newspaper, which creates a platform for student voices. She also volunteers with a local animal rescue, where she works on animal care and community outreach.

Ellen is pursuing a B.Sc. in engineering at the University of British Columbia. She is an active member of the aerodynamics subteam of the Formula UBC Design Team, where she integrates designs to create a fully functioning formula car. She is also a member of the UBC Choir, singing contemporary classical music. She completed her summer experience at the TRIUMF particle accelerator centre, working on the TITAN experiment to explore the nuclear structure.

Ridhwanlai is the Founder of Wake-Up Mental Health, a non-profit organization offering workshops in support of mental well-being. He is also Co-Chair of his school’s Student Council and Founder of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. He competes in volleyball, basketball, badminton, and track. Ridhwanlai volunteers in his community and is a Kumon tutor.

While studying neuroscience in the integrated science program at the University of British Columbia, Kaitlyn has been involved in the Science Undergraduate Society advocating for comprehensive reforms that prioritize accessible mental health services for students within her faculty. She is the volunteer lead for her campus food bank and organizes activities promoting food security for students and staff. Kaitlyn is currently working as an undergraduate researcher at the Centre for Brain Health, exploring the contributions of epigenetic mechanisms to various neurodegenerative disorders, specifically Alzheimer’s Disease.
